SCOTT HUCKABAY ~ Live in Concert
A Spring Emergence Portal…

Preview Scott Live

"I've never seen Huckabay's equal on acoustic guitar… he doesn't just think outside the box—the box doesn't exist.  Huckabay is indeed a musical shaman."  Mel Mason, Tucson Weekly

Scott's act is reminiscent of transcended masters Michael Hedges meets Jimi Hendrix meets Ravi Shankar. He is a very rhythmic and dynamic player, developing complex and energetic tribal progressions on his alternately tuned guitar, resonant with the heart chakra at 528 Hz. He takes the audience by surprise, leading them through dancing and joyous celebration into the realm of his celestial worship – the courtyard of the Divine. Various guitar tools assist in the journey of this vision caster from the land of Mu and his six stringed instrument of divination. Scott Huckabay is rapidly gaining widespread recognition as the "Universal Guitarist for the Spiritual Renaissance."

Recent Write-up By Lisa Meredith:

When Scott Huckabay performs, his audience does not just listen. They experience. The self-taught guitar virtuoso's inspiration comes from both man and nature. Artists as diverse as Jimi Hendrix and Ravi Shankar contribute to his inter-dimensional style, as well as the mystical hydro-sonic tones he learned from a year of swimming with dolphins and whales in Kauai.

Dubbed "Guitar Avatar,"… Huckabay has been living 80 percent off the grid on 20 acres in Mount Shasta for one year to be in closer harmony with his land, Juniper Winds Sanctuary. "I want to help heal the wounds of the earth with my music," Huckabay said. The artist's Chirachua Apache Native American heritage influences this deep affinity.

Whether he is sharing the stage with such top favorites as Chicago, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Buffy Saint-Marie, Ram Das, Hapa, Bob Weir, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Joe Satriani for thousands, or playing solo in smaller venues, his command of diverse musical expressions of blues, folk, jazz, new age, fusion and rock, with a taste of flamenco, is hard to beat.

When watching him perform with his guitar, it is easy to see why so many refer to him as the "Guitar Alchemyst." Tuned to 528Hz, resonant with the heart chakra, no one elicits such an amazing medley of mystical special effects. This artist does not just strum; he plucks, taps, strokes, bangs, pounds, rattles, shakes and even uses a bow. He and his instrument are in synchronicity. His guitar is a physical extension of himself. Their relationship can take on a tribal flair when he is dancing, prancing, and hopping on stage while simultaneously "playing" his guitar. At times, he becomes a whirling dervish with astounding intensity and frenzy.

When he is a blur of motion, it is difficult to imagine him ever a lonely, sickly child or partially paralyzed. It was after a near-fatal motorcycle accident that Huckabay discovered the guitar, or it discovered him. In 1987, just split seconds before a truck pulled in front of him, crashing at top speeds, he made a pact with his Creator. "I let go of the handlebars because I knew I was going to die," Huckabay recalled, "I said, 'OK God/Creator, I surrender to you.'"

When he awoke from unconsciousness, he saw a guitar at his feet. When he touched it, he felt music coursing through him. That spiritual bond between him and instrument became therapeutic. This rapport is what guided him to defy doctors' pronouncements of losing feeling in his right hand and left leg and never walk or use his right hand again. The letting-go he experienced in the motorcycle crash is the same sensation he has when he performs; he fully surrenders to the music.

Scotts Valley resident Robert Perala, musician/songwriter and guitar player, has opened for Scott. The New Age author and motivational speaker said, "Scott is an anomaly, a savant, really. He has been compared to Jimi Hendrix for the spectacle aspect of his music, but he is so much more than that. He is one of the few people who can play guitar left-handed, upside-down and right-side up. "It's a spiritual experience to see him."
